WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN MY CAREER

My name is Magnus Malmedal Drågen I was born in Bergen, Norway, and moved to Molde, the city of jazz and roses, at the age of 4. I was exposed to a lot of different styles of music as a child, thanks to my parents. Such as jazz, blues, rock n' roll, gospel, big band, disco, pop etc. The interest for music really started kicking in at the age of 8 when I began playing the trumpet at Molde school of music.

At the age of 15 I joined their youth big band and Molde jazzfestival's New Orleans orchestra Jazzlogen. Jazzlogen is a jazz band run by one of Norways leading jazzbands Ytre Suløens jass- ensemble. In these two bands I learned how to improvise in styles like jazz and blues, and form this point on I decided to pursue the dream of becoming a musician.

I graduated in 2013 with a masters degree in rhythmical music with a specialization in composing and arranging from the university of Agder.  I went on studying educating at Norway school of music and graduated in 2015.

I work as a musician in several bands and have composed and arranged music beginning at the age of 13.
